SECOND PRESS CONFERENCE FOR THE ECO-PRODUCTS   INTERNATIONAL FAIR (EPIF) 2008

   
Morning, 19th Feb. 08 : The second Second Press conference for the Eco-Products International Fair 2008 took place at the Directorate for Standards and Quality (STAMEQ), Hanoi. More than 30 press/news/TV agencies appeared at the conference to notify the EPIF news to public.

    Mr. Ngo Quy Viet, General Director of STAMEQ and Chairman of the EPIF Organizing Committee, declared that it is honoured for Vietnam to organize the 4th EPIF event. The display of exhibited products and services of leading companies/corporations from Japan, Vietnam and other nations would create a good opportunity for communities of enterprises and consumers to better understand the benefits coming from the production and consumption of eco-products ...

    Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Sinh, Chairman of the Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment had a presentation on "Eco-products and Sustainable Development".  Shared information by Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Managing Director of Vietnam Productivity Centre is also about the EPIF preparation of the Organizing Committee and EPIF side-events.

    In the friendly astmosphere of the conference, raised questions are focused on the awareness of Vietnamese citizens on environment-friendly products, EPIF organization activities. Expectations for this EPIF success were clearly shown by representatives coming from press/news/TV agencies.

    In order to enhance the awareness of the society on the benefit of production and consumption of eco-products as well as to create a business connection between organizations/enterprises, the fair is free for entry. Public activities at the fair are various for selection such as science seminar, show arts, environment-related films, environment-related games for students, ... Especially, attractive and meaningful presents of the EPIF 2008 will be given to lucky visitors.

 

 

MEETING WITH JAPANESE EXHIBITORS OF EPIF 2008 IN HANOI

     In Jan., 17th 2008, the Organizers of the Eco-Products International Fair 2008 (EPIF) had a meeting in Tokyo with about 50 representatives of Japanese enterprises which are exhibitors of the Fair in early March, 2008. At the meeting, updated information about the organization and preparation process of the EPIF 2008 in Vietnam, exhibitors’ manual, sponsor invitation, … is shared and explained to those exhibitors.

     The Organizers answered/remarked questions and comments of Japanese enterprises regarding the organization of the EPIF 2008 and all steps of exhibitor registration procedure of the Fair held at the Mydinh National Convention Center, Hanoi, Vietnam.

     The active participation of Japanese enterprises toward the EPIF 2008 has shown strong commitments and spirit for the manufacturing and promotion of eco-, environment-friendly products in the market.

 

 

PUBLICIZING THE EPIF 2008 AT THE 9TH ECO-PRODUCT 2007-ECO STYLE FAIR IN TOKYO

     The organizers of the Eco-products International Fair 2008 (EPIF 2008) to be held in Hanoi, Vietnam, from March 1 to March 4 next year, took a booth at the 9th Eco Products 2007—Eco Style Fair in Tokyo to publicize their own event. The 9th Eco Products 2007 was organized by the Japan Environmental Management Association for Industry and Nihon Keizai Shimbun, Inc. at Tokyo Big Sight, one of the biggest exhibition halls in Japan. It featured 1,200 booths and attracted more than 160,000 visitors.

    Many of those visitors stopped by the EPIF 2008 booth to learn more about that APO event, and over 5,000 brochures and copies of other reference materials were distributed to interested individuals. The many inquiries received confirmed that such exhibitions and other promotional activities have significantly raised awareness of the benefits of eco-products not only in Japan but also internationally.

PRIME MINISTRER MR. NGUYEN TAN DUNG UNDERLINES IMPORTANCE OF PRODUCT QUALITY

     “Vietnam pays special attention to productivity in each sector, considering it a major factor in the country’s sustainable development process,” Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said.

      He made the statement while receiving Shigeo Takenaka, Secretary General of the Asian Productivity Organisation (APO) in Hanoi on 18 October. The APO chief committed to supporting Vietnam’s businesses and organizations to improve their productivity and product quality, with importance attached to personnel training.


     In March next year, the APO will organize an international exhibition on eco-products in Vietnam to raise the awareness of local businesses and consumers of eco-products and community health, he said.

     Established in 1961, the APO, which now has 20 members is an intergovernmental regional organization with the aim of contributing to the development of the Asia-Pacific region through increased productivity.
