SIDA ENVIRONMEMTAL FUND
Criteria
to apply for the support from the Sida Environmental Fund (SEF)

Projects must be small-scale and short-term, must have a direct
positive effect on the environment and reflect local needs
and priorities. The Fund does not concern itself with
large-scale, national or long-term projects and programs.
The maximum duration is 12 months.

The Fund is directed to local environment-oriented organizations.
Amount of support to each project may be about 7000 –
10000USD for project managed by community and about 10000
– 15000USD for project managed by NGOs as well. Financing
of small equipment shall be considered on a case by case
basis and must not exceed 10% of the total project budget.

SEF give priority to project that has reinforce of participation
and representative of poor people/ community/ group when set
up decision which influence on their life. Priority should
be given to innovative and catalytic projects, but
neglected) by line ministries, provinces, or the Government
environmental management agencies (i.e. far off or difficult
areas, ethnic minorities). The projects should also
represent geographical balance, priority to areas have Sida
development cooperation program.

Except special cases,
the Fund does not support certain fields of activities,
which are too much specialized, or requiring long-term
investigation or taken charge by the Government bodies or
under Agreements with the Ministries of Vietnam (e.g. credit
scheme, investment, business, religion, large-scale projects
such as development of health care centers or sport
activities)

Applicants (CBOs, NGOs, CSOs) have to follow/enforce the SEF
instruction and submit 1 copy in Vietnamese to the AG Office
for evaluation. The SEF will only announce for approved
project.
