Cai Hai District authorities have allocated nearly VND100 billion (USD3.87 million) to expand the Dong Bai and Cai Vieng ferry terminals. The investment capital will come from the locality’s budget.

The two ferry terminals will be expanded to 13,600 square metres, covering Phu Long and Dong Bai communes.

The project is being fast-tracked for completion before the April 30-May 1 holiday to help reduce traffic congestion at the two ferry terminals.

This year, Cat Hai District aims to welcome 4 million tourists. To achieve this goal, the district has organised a series of cultural, sports, and tourism events to promote Cat Ba as a destination and to enhance the visibility of Ha Long Bay-Cat Ba Island, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site.

Businesses have been instructed to register and clearly display their prices and strictly adhere to the listed rates for services such as hotels, guesthouses, restaurants, sightseeing boats, and overnight cruises in an effort to prevent tourist overcharging.
