People experience public bicycle-sharing service at the event

The official operation of the service aims to encourage people to use public transport, thus contributing to reducing environmental pollution and creating new tourist products for the city.

According to Do Ba Dan, Chairman of Tri Nam Group – the project’s investor, in the first phase, 1,000 bicycles, including 500 electric ones, will be placed at 79 rental stations, which are located near bus stops, parks and tourist attractions, so that users can easily get access to the service.

People are required to install the TNGo app on their smartphones and register for an account to use the rental service.

At the launch ceremony

The fees are priced at 5,000 VND (0.22 USD) per 30 minutes for normal bicycles and 10,000 VND (0.44 USD) for electric bikes. They can return the vehicle at any station.

Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi Municipal People's Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen said, that the development of public bicycles will not only support other forms of public transport but also contribute to diversifying the public transport system in Hanoi city, thus gradually changing people's travel habits, towards reducing environmental pollution.

Previously, Tri Nam Group has operated the bike-sharing model in five localities, including Ho Chi Minh City, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Hai Phong, Hai Duong and Binh Dinh.
