(VACNE) – In the atmosphere of the whole country joyfully celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South (30/4/1975 - 30/4/2025), on the evening of April 30, at the stadium of Na Tong village, Thuong Lam commune, Tuyen Quang province, the People's Committee of Lam Binh district held a ceremony to receive the Certificate of Recognition of Vietnamese Heritage Trees along with a special commemorative art program.

The trees recognized this time include the Complex of 25 Excentrodendron tonkinense Chang & Miau with a circumference of 2.5 to 6.5 m and a height of 20 to 35 m in Bien village, Phuc Son commune, Lam Binh district, Tuyen Quang province. The trees are located on the typical limestone forest terrain of the high mountains of Lam Binh, which has been strictly cared for and protected by local people for many generations.

Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Sinh, Chairman of the Vietnam Association for Nature and Environment Protection and Assoc. Prof. TS. Tran Ngoc Hai, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Heritage Tree Council attended and directly awarded the Certificate of Recognition of Heritage Trees to local representatives.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le The Dat, Chairman of Lam Binh District People's Committee, said that the recognition of heritage trees contributes to propagating the value of biodiversity conservation, cultural values and environmental protection. At the same time, raising awareness of tree protection in the community, associating nature conservation with cultural tourism development, promoting and introducing local images.

At the program, the delegates and a large number of people enjoyed the art program with the theme "Lam Binh steadily walks up". The art program consists of 2 parts performed by over 200 artisans and actors.
