Attending the 2022 Review Conference and contributing to the development of the action plan for 2023 – the year towards the Eighth Congress of the Association, there were a large number of leaders, Standing Members, Executive Committees and Presidents of the Environmental Protection Association in some provinces and cities in the country,  Leaders of enterprises, research institutes and journals under the Association.

According to the summary report, presented by Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Sinh, President of the Association: 2022 year – the "new normal" period due to the COVID-19 pandemic has not ended, but the member units under the Central Committee of the Association, as well as local associations still successfully completed the set plan. From strengthening the organization, expanding the network, social media consulting activities, raising public awareness ... and especially people's foreign affairs, international cooperation in scientific research.

Promoting the strengths of social media activities of experts in the field of natural resources and environment, the Association has actively gathered a team of experts to well implement the critical requirements of the Law on Environmental Protection, the Law on Planning, the Law on Land, the Law on Water Resources, the Law on Petroleum,  The Law on the Activities of Associations... 

Upholding the traditions of the Association and intellectual abilities, VACNE experts actively participate in environmental communication activities through central and local media agencies, participate in disseminating the law on environmental protection by ministries,  sectors, localities, districts and organizations.

In particular, in 2022, the Association has actively organized an online seminar with 4 bridgeheads along the country, on the topic "Only one Earth" on the occasion of the celebration of International Biodiversity Day 22/5, World Environment Day 5/6, International Ocean Day (8/6), attracted over 1,300 participants. This is an activity that has carried the "brand" of the Association, maintained regularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, highly appreciated by the public.

The association's specific activity "Preserving Vietnamese Heritage Trees" in 2022 is also unexpected, due to the positive response from the community, with nearly 1,000 old trees recognized as Heritage Trees. The organization of the honor is very diverse and has a widespread effect, in 16 localities: Cao Bang, Hai Phong, Thanh Hoa, Ben Tre, Dac Nong, Khanh Hoa, Hoa Binh, Ha Giang, Dien Bien, Son La, Hanoi, Yen Bai, Ha Nam, Nam Dinh, Hai Duong, Vinh Phuc.

The webinar between VACNE and Nanning China on "Ancient Care - Heritage Trees" in 2022 is also a very interesting event because it is the real result of the movement "Preserving Vietnamese Heritage Trees" abroad.

In particular, the International Conference "Impacts of environmental pollution on biodiversity and human health", although an unscheduled work, has been actively participated by leaders and members of the Association. This activity has attracted many units and members to participate and created positive effects on society. At the same time, it opened a new activity of the Association through the research cooperation project "Assessing the current situation and proposing solutions to minimize the impacts of open burning and the use of plant protection chemicals in agriculture on climate change, human health and biodiversity in Vietnam". At the Conference, in the presence of Executive Committee members and guests, the President signed a cooperation agreement with the Global Alliance for Health and Pollution (GAHP) under the support of the UK Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) to implement the project.

At this Conference, VACNE President awarded Certificates of Merit to 10 individuals with outstanding achievements in the Association's activities in 2022. Also at the Conference, the Chairman of the Emulation and Reward Council of the Association launched the competition to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (1993-2023), the 35th anniversary of the Vietnam Association for Nature and Environment Protection (1998-2023) and the VIII Congress for the 2023-2028 term of the Association. 

The delegates all agreed with the high appreciation of the results achieved in the past year; expressed determination to complete the plan well for next year. The VACNE Central Committee Conference adopted the Resolution of the Executive Committee and the 2022 Review Report and the 2023 operation direction of the Association, and agreed to add 3 more members to the Standing Committee; 5 new members entered the Executive and approved the establishment of 1 Center and 2 Collective Members
