Ba Be Lake has become a new Ramsar Site in Vietnam

According to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE), UNESCO has recognized Ba Be Lake in the northern mountainous province of Bac Can as the Ramsar Site - the third wetland of international importance in Vietnam.

Responding to Vietnam Sea and Island Week and World Environment Day (June 5), on May 31, nearly 200 students, Youth Union members and residents in Nha Trang City planted about 22,400 "Duoc" trees (Rhizophora apiculata Blume) and 200 "Mam" trees (Avicennia marina) on 1.5 ha of mangrove forest in Dam Bay of Hon Tre Island (Vinh Nguyen Ward, Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Province). This is the only place to have mangrove forest in Nha Trang be restored. The program was held by the Management Board of Nha Trang Bay Marine Protected Area.
