Hanoi's most polluted lake

By Tran Thanh dtinews.vn

Linh Quang is often described as the most polluted lake in Hanoi by many people as it is full of rubbish.

The rubbish in the two-hectare lake at Van Chuong Ward is discharged by surrounding households and drains.

Linh Quang Lake is always full of rubbish

Linh Van Doan, a local resident, said that the lake has been polluted for years. Anyone who goes through the lake can easily feel the bad smell, particularly on sunny or rainy days.

He added that several local households threw construction debris, rubbish and soil into the lake. Meanwhile, some others have illegally encroached upon the lake by setting up temporary houses for rent, which has gradually made the lake smaller.

Hanoi does have a plan to clean the lake; however, nothing has yet been done to date
