The central province of Ninh Thuan has approved a new wind power project in Thuan Nam District’s Phuoc Minh Commune.

The  712 hectare Phuoc Minh Wind Power Plant will have 23 turbines with a  combined capacity of 48.3 MW and cost VND1.66 trillion (US$74.7  million).
 
But  the project has not yet been listed in the Ninh Thuan Wind Power  Development Plan for 2011-20 approved by the Ministry of Industry and  Trade.
 
Under the plan, the provincial targets to develop 12 wind power projects with a total capacity of 200 MW.
 
The  province People’s Committee has sought approval from the ministry to  incorporate the project into the plan so that it can be developed soon.
