Binh Dinh to spend VND99bn on sea dyke

Tran Chau, vice chairman of Binh Dinh People's Committee, approved the project to build a sea dyke in Nhon Hai Commune with the Management Board of Agriculture and Rural Development Projects as the investor on January 22.

The dyke will be 1,300 metres long, from the north to south beaches of Hai Nam Village. The construction will be carried out from 2020 to 2022. Roads will be built along the dyke and connect with main traffic routes in the area.

The project aims to reinforce the old dyke which was damaged by the tropical storm last year and prevent erosion, protecting the infrastructure, belongings and lives of the people that live near the coastal line. It is also hoped that the project will help boost economic, protect the environment and attract more tourists.

The tropical storm last year damaged the dyke in Nhon Hai Commune and destroyed the adjacent road. 14 houses were also destroyed and nearly 100 houses were threatened by high tides and erosion.
