Recruiting volunteers to participate in Trans-Vietnam Bike Tour

24 May 2011 | 11:08:00 AM

Responding to International Year of Forests (2011) and promoting the spirit of Vietnam Youth on the occasion of the 80th founding anniversary of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Vietnam Association of Conservation of Nature and Environment (VACNE) in collaboration with Action for Environment Organization (AFEO) and Cycling for Environment (C4E) under VACNE held Trans-Vietnam Bike Tour for Environment themed: Youth Voices “Let's Protect Forests”.

This is the fourth year we have organized Trans-Vietnam Cycling Program for Environment. This bike journey will pass through 18 provinces. Departing from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, the group will gather in Hue. During the journey, there will be many communications activities, launching ceremonies, response activities and national forests sightseeing.
Earlier, three Trans-Vietnam Cycling Programs were held successfully, creating a good impression at many localities where the group passed through and drew a lot of attention from the public as well as mass media. In 2008, it took 25 members over 1 month to ride from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City along National Route 1A. In 2009, 50 members discovered Ho Chi Minh Trail with the theme “Journey along the Truong Son Mountains” on the 50th anniversary of existence of Ho Chi Minh Trail. Especially, the program has attracted the participation of two environmental ambassadors, including Historian Duong Trung Quoc and Miss Vietnam 2006 Mai Phuong Thuy. In 2010, 25 members in the South rode to Hanoi in the program named “The protection of cultural heritage in the conditions of climate change”.
C4E has officially launched Trans-Vietnam Cycling Program 2011. Students who desire to register to join the program, please, contact us at the email  c4evietnam@gmail.com for registration.
Deadline falls on May 29, 2011
