Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Sinh, President of VACNE, made a welcome speech at the Workshop 

This is a scientific forum co-organized by the Institute of Natural Resources and Environment (VNU) of VNU, together with the Vietnam Association of Natural Resources and Environment and the Institute of Geography (Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology), on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the VNU system; are suggestions to discuss for the preparation of documents under the Law on Environmental Protection just passed by the National Assembly; At the same time, it is also practical specific research for socio-economic development in the coming time.  

In his welcome speech to the Workshop, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Sinh, President of VACNE affirmed that: Environment and sustainable development are a cross-cutting topic that is regularly interested by VACNE. The most obvious is: the classic books on this subject published by the National Political Publishing House in recent years have been compiled by VACNE scientists. Specifically, the books: "Ensuring Environmental Security for Sustainable Development", "Green Economy for Sustainable Development in the Context of Climate Change", "Environment and Development in the Context of Climate Change "Climate change response from a community perspective" ... At this workshop, not only did dozens of reports and speeches from Members contribute, but VACNE also mobilized a force. numerous leading scientists, participating in chairing most of the subcommittees. All reports, speeches, as well as comments made at the Sub-Committees: "Sustainable development in the context of climate change"; "Biodiversity Conservation and Natural Resource Management"; "Environmental issues and pollution treatment" were exchanged, discussed actively, the participation of many disciplines, in the presence of representatives of the Central Economic Committee, Hanoi National University and one local number./.
