Workshop Chair
The workshop will take place in Da Lat city, Lam Dong province on December 19, 2023 as an event to celebrate the success of the 35th anniversary of VACNE and the 16th anniversary of VACNE and KSEIA (Korea Environmental Impact Assessment Association) establishing cooperation.
14 Korean delegates from KSEIA, Pusan National University, Ewha Women's University, Ulsan Research Institute,... presented 8 related scientific reports. Vietnamese delegates from Hanoi, Hue, Ho Chi Minh City, Dak Lak, Lam Dong presented 8 reports. The reports presented in the hall or "hanging" clearly state the urgency to quickly approach and update the legal provisions on conflict management in the context of continuous improvement of environmental laws. It is easy to see that the content of "conflict management" is quite new, the specific regulations on this issue are incomplete, even missing in many places. According to 1 number of managers attending the workshop, Vietnam urgently needs to study and propose additional legal provisions on conflict management in the relevant document system.
Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Sinh, President of VACNE, PhD. Lee Youngsoo, President of KSEIA delivered the opening remarks. Dr. Nguyen Thuong Hien, Deputy Director of the Department of Environment, representative of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Mr. Nguyen Van Trai, Deputy Director of Lam Dong Department of Natural Resources and Environment gave a welcome speech.
Immediately after the workshop, Korean delegates and 1 number of Vietnamese delegates will go to field survey and visit biodiversity at Bidoup National Park - Nui Ba, Lam Dong.
Opening speeches, welcome speeches and scientific reports are printed in Vietnamese and English in the 200-page Conference Proceedings.
VACNE and KSEIA plan to organize the 8th Vietnam-Korea EIA Conference in Korea in 2025.
